The Greater Houston Horse Council Disaster Committee/Texas Equine Emergency Response is taking applications for volunteers who are interested in helping equines before or after a disaster.
If you are willing to help, would we would like to hear from you.
Do you have facilities/pasture that could be utilized during disaster? We need to hear from you too!
Can’t drive a trailer, or load a horse? No problem.
We need volunteers that can help send emails, make phone calls, work triage, feed and take care of the animals, or do other volunteer work that may arise. Whatever your talent is, we are happy to put you on a team.
Please know, that in order to be considered as a first responder for a Federal or State disaster, FEMA requires you to have a minimum certification of National Incident Command System (NIMS) ICS - 100 training.
